ABOUT

Hi!  My name is Heidi Tucker and I've been sewing and crafting since I was 10 years old.  Over the last few years I've discovered a love for making handbags and wallets.  Since discovering cork fabric, that love has grown even more!  Cork is a wonderful medium - soft and durable, water, fire and soil resistant, and environmentally friendly.  It comes in lots of colors and prints.  Check out what's available in the Cork Gallery  I also do machine embroidery which I add to some of my bags, wallets and wine totes.  Custom designs are available!  If you would like more information about any of my products or services, you can send me a message from the contact page.

I am a breast cancer survivor.  It’s not something I talk about a lot, but recently I was behind a car with a sticker that said “I Won” with the Breast Cancer ribbon in place of the “o”.  It reminded me of a design I toyed with shortly after my treatments ended.  I wanted to find a way to thank all of the people who supported me during that time – something more meaningful than just a note.  I thought of them as my angels, so I tried transforming that sentiment into an embroidery design. When I first tried to create something, I couldn’t get it quite right. Seeing that bumper sticker re-ignited my creative process and motivated me to put this concept into action. I came up with this very simple design that I plan to incorporate into my products in various ways for people who want a useful and meaningful gift to present to their own “angels”.  It could be very subtle – just a small design on the inside lining of a bag or wallet – or more prominent like this business card/gift card holder. Each item will come with a small card that says, “Thank you for being my Angel!”.  For every item sold with this design, I will donate one dollar to cancer research.
